The five-story, 154,000-square-foot project will add 120 beds as well as a cardiothoracic intensive care unit, a neuro-intensive care unit for neurosurgical and stroke patients, three floors of new acute medical space and a new and improved emergency department vehicle entrance.
Additionally, the project will convert 70 existing patient rooms from double occupancy to single occupancy. When the expansion is complete, the hospital will have a total of 931 patient beds, up from 881 currently.
Robins & Morton, which built the Madison Street Tower in 2006, is serving as the general contractor.
“We are excited to reach such an important milestone on this project that will have a lasting, positive impact on our Huntsville community for many years to come. Our team is looking forward to working toward the completion of this project, and we are grateful to Huntsville Hospital for their continued partnership.”
Mitch Coley, Robins & Morton
The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
