With the population in Hampton Cove and Owens Cross Roads increasing with the rest of the Huntsville metro, Huntsville Hospital identified this area as a prime location to build another free-standing emergency facility.

HH Health broke ground on another emergency department facility in North Huntsville October 21.

The new facility in Hampton Cove will include:

  • An emergency department staffed by board-certified physicians
  • Advanced diagnostic imaging with CT and ultrasound technology
  • Laboratory services
  • A helipad

HH Health officials said the facility will provide more ER options closer to home, and hopefully shorter waits at the main hospital.

“As Huntsville continues to grow, we have to make sure our infrastructure and essential services keep pace. For families in the Cove area, having emergency care on this side of the mountain will make a real difference. We’re grateful to Huntsville Hospital for recognizing the needs of our growing community and investing in its future.”

Mayor Tommy Battle

Construction on both the Hampton Cove and North Huntsville freestanding emergency departments are expected to be completed in December 2027.
