New Huntsville medical facilities celebrate openings
A city growing as quickly as Huntsville needs to grow its medical infrastructure, and this past week saw some of that infrastructure growth with the opening of two new medical facilities in the area.
Crestwood Medical Center cut the ribbons for a new free-standing ER and a new internal medicine office. Here’s more info:
Crestwood ER one of the new medical facilities
Last Wednesday, Crestwood cut the ribbon on the new $24 million freestanding emergency department on Highway 53 at Burwell Road. Some features of he $24 million facility:
- The same services as the emergency department at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville.
- Patients will be able to check-in online to reserve their place in line.
- The 11,047-square-foot facility has 10 private patient rooms with radiology and lab services on site as well as a helicopter pad for patient transfer as appropriate.
- Many emergency services can be effectively managed at a freestanding emergency department without the need for transfer to a traditional hospital setting. If a higher level of care is required, a patient can be transported quickly to Crestwood Medical Center or the facility of the patient’s choice.
The ER is located at 1337 Burwell Rd, Harvest, AL 35749.
Internal medicine office
Another one of the new medical facilities that celebrated last week is the Crestwood Internal Residency Clinic as 165 Whitesport Dr SW, Huntsville, AL 35801.
The office is open for patients ages 18 and up seeking general medical care. Services include preventive care, illness and acute care and chronic disease management.
