Huntsville PD to break ground on new investigation facility

Ground will be broken this week for construction of a new crime scene investigation facility for the Huntsville Police Department. Huntsville officials will be on hand for a groundbreaking ceremony this Friday.

New CSI facility for Huntsville PD

The Huntsville PD Criminal Investigation Division will be housed in a new 14,000-square-foot building complete with labs, office space, evidence processing areas and vehicle processing bays.

The project also includes a separate, climate-controlled 13,500-square-foot facility for vehicle and evidence storage. The new facility will be located on Wheeler Ave.

“This project is not just about meeting our current needs; it’s about planning for the future. With more space and resources, we will be able to expand, grow our team and continue to enhance our capabilities as the city grows.”

Construction on the $9.7 million facility is expected to take approximately one year.
