What was once a thriving dine-in restaurant chain has now left the state of Alabama entirely. The O’Charley’s restaurant in Decatur on Beltline Road is permanently closed, leaving zero O’Charley’s locations left in Alabama.

A report by WHNT said the Decatur location closed over the weekend.

O’Charley’s once had more than 20 locations in Alabama, but closed five Alabama locations last year — Prattville, Daphne, Decatur, Foley and Fultondale — leaving the Decatur location as the lone O’Charley’s left in the state.

The restaurant chain was started in 1971 in Nashville, and at one time had locations in 13 states. A news release from last year said the chain closed 50 stores in 2023.

The chain operates 65 stores across 12 states currently.
