A little more than a year has passed since Lewter Hardware closed its doors for good after nearly 100 years in business. Since then, the empty store has stood among the growing downtown area.

However, a new luxury townhome development is coming to the Lewter parking lot site. Here’s what we know:

The Lewter District Townhomes are still in the pre-construction phase, and Van Valkenburgh & Wilkenson is currently taking reservations for this new downtown development.

Here’s what we know about the Lewter District Townhomes:

  • Most of the 14 homes feature 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, and 2,950 to 3,300 square feet of living space over 3 floors. One home offers a unique 4-bedroom floor plan spanning 3,250 square feet.
  • Generously proportioned rooms feature high ceilings & a flexible floorplan that accommodates a primary suite, a home office, guest bedrooms & great storage.
  • Features include white oak flooring, kitchen with natural stone backsplash & quartz counters, a professional gas range, gas fireplace & more.
  • Each home is wired for smart thermostats & locks, a Sonos audio system, high speed wi-fi & other automation systems.
  • Options include an elevator and/or a rooftop deck/penthouse- offering great views of Monte Sano.
