LivSmart Studios hotel in Decatur among new high-dollar building permits

This past week, 22 new building permits were issued across the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These permits included projects in Auburn, Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Anniston, primarily.

In fact, 10 of the permits were for projects in or around Madison County. One of these was for a project that involves a LivSmart by Hilton hotel in Decatur.

New LivSmart in Decatur

Omega Hotel Group is planning a Hilton LivSmart Studios hotel on 10.92 acres on this property that’s just east of the Beltline Road Southwest intersection.

LivSmart specializes in extended stays (weeks or months) with “modern farmhouse” design, fully equipped kitchens (including dishwashers and stovetops), and flexible furniture.

An $11 million permit was issued to GCC Construction for the project.
