Love sports? Here’s your guide to spring sports in Huntsville

Spring in Huntsville is a wonderful time to be outdoors, and it’s also a fabulous time for sports here in North Alabama. In Huntsville, we have a bevy of options this spring when it comes to sporting events.
The Rocket City offers minor League baseball and soccer, college baseball and softball and even collegiate beach volleyball. Whatever your sport may be, you’ll find some quality events here in the Rocket City.

Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships

Huntsville is becoming a preferred destination for collegiate beach volleyball, and John Hunt Park is ready to host the Atlantic Sun Conference championship tournament and the NJCAA tournament.
The ASUN is an eight-team beach volleyball league, including members: Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, North Alabama, North Florida and Stetson. The ASUn tournament takes place April 22-24.
The National Junior College Athletic Association will again hold its championship tournament in the Rocket City April 30-May 2.

Rocket City Trash Pandas

The Trash Pandas, entering their sixth season as the Los Angeles Angels Double-A affiliate, begin the 2026 season at home April 3. This season will be the first under new manager Joe Kruzel.

Huntsville City FC

Your Huntsville City FC begins its season at the beginning of March, with road games in Orlando and Atlanta before the team;s home opener March 21 against Chattanooga.
Season tickets are on same, as well as individual game tickets.

College baseball + softball

Baseball and softball season is about to start for NCAA teams, and locally, we have some quality college baseball and softball being played regularly in the Rocket City.

Also, Toyota Field will host Alabama vs. Austin Peay March 24, and the Global Baseball Series, featuring exhibition games between UAH, Alabama A&M, the Trash Pandas and a team of athletes from Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.
AHSAA Soccer Championships

The Alabama High School Athletic Association and Huntsville Sports Commission are excited to have the AHSAA State Soccer Championships back at John Hunt Park. The tournament will be held May 6-9.
