Salt Factory, Lawler’s BBQ, Canadian Bakin’ receive health scores of 95+

A bevy of Madison County eateries received updated health scores in May, with several receiving excellent ratings, including the newly opened Salt Factory in MidCity, popular bakery Canadian Bakin‘ and Huntsville favorite Lawler’s BBQ.

As a public service, Hville Blast will report monthly Madison County Health Department restaurant scores, featuring those eateries that scored a 95 or better on their inspection. This month, more than 100 local establishments that handle and serve food were inspected by the health department, including restaurants, schools, nursing homes, daycare centers, hospitals, grocery stores and concession stands.

Here is who made the honor roll in May of 2022…

Lawler’s BBQ – 100

Lawler’s BBQ has 13 locations throughout North Alabama, and offers some of the best barbecue in the city, which is saying a lot.

It’s Meridianville location, at 11818 Hwy 231/431 North, Suite A, Meridianville, AL 35759, recently received a perfect health score.

Canadian Bakin’ – 96

Canadian Bakin, located at 501 Church St NW Suite A, Huntsville, AL 35801, features hand-rolled bagels and artisan breads, baked fresh daily in downtown Huntsville.

Salt Factory – 96

One of the newest members of the Huntsville restaurant community, the Salt Factory opened just a few weeks ago. Located at 6000 Stax Street NW, Huntsville, AL 35806, officials describe the pub as “an upscale gastropub that offers modern and approachable cuisine with an unbeatable beer list.”
