A regular traditional cheeseburger is fine, but why not venture out and find a more unique burger? (Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint)

In case you didn’t know it, Saturday is National Hamburger Day, and why not celebrate this tribute to one of America’s most popular foods with a delicious burger from a Huntsville resturarant?

Instead of trying to put together a seemingly impossible “Best Burgers” list (let’s face it, there are a TON of great burgers in Huntsville), Hville Blast wants to introduce y’all to some of the more unique twists on the traditional hamburger on menus at Huntsville burger joints. Here are five of my favorites:

1. The Popeye – Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint

Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint, located at 123 North Side Square #100, Huntsville, AL 35801, offers a wide variety of specialty burgers, but my favorite has to be tghe Popeye, which is a burger topped with house-made spinach-artichoke dip, pepper jack cheese and fried onions.

2. Sam I Am Burger – Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar

You cannot go wrong with any of the burgers on the menu at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar at 2317 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL 35801. But I am partial to the Sam I Am Burger, a play on the old Dr. Seuss story “Green Eggs and Ham.”

The Sam I Am Burger is topped with American cheese, an over-easy fried egg, rosemary ham and pesto.

3. Bulgogi Burger – Peppered Pig

Okay, some burger purists might scoff at some of the twists that resturants put on the traditional burger, but be open minded, especially at the Peppered Pig, located at 11110 Memorial Parkway SW Huntsville, AL 35803.

Perhaps none of those inique burger recipes is more original than the Bulgogi Burger, which is a fresh Angus beef burger marinated in Korean BBQ sauce topped with a fried sesame sushi rice cake, Kimchi, garlic mayo and grilled scallions.

4. The Taco Burger – Shaggy’s Burgers & Tacos

The Taco Burger can be found only at Shaggy’s Burgers & Tacos. (Shaggy’s via Facebook)

The Taco Burger at Shaggy’s Burgers & Tacos (located at 1267 Enterprise Way, Huntsville, AL 35806) is exactly what you imagine it is – a burger with taco beef, lettuce, tomato, cheddar and monterey jack, with some salsa on the side. You’re going to want the salsa, by the way.

5. PB&Yay! – Toybox Bistro

Hear me out here. Yes, the PB&Yay! burger at Toybox Bistro at 511 Jordan Ln NW, Huntsville, AL 35805 is a burger that has peanut butter on it. But the addition of the peanut butter really does compliment the other ingredients. The burger has ghost chili cheese, bacon, peanut butter, lettuce, tomato and onion.

So there you have it folks! If you find another unique burger in town, let us know!
