This week, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced the 2025 nationally recognized Small Business Person of the Year award winners from each of the 50 states, and Alabama’s winners happen to be a couple of Huntsville business owners.

Kim and Larry Lewis, owners of PROJECTXYZ, Inc., picked up the honor ahead of National Small Business Week.

Each year, the SBA celebrates National Small Business Week by recognizing the achievements of outstanding small business owners and entrepreneurs across the United States.

All 53 winners have been invited to attend ceremonies in Washington, D.C., May 4-5, where they will be honored with their individual award along with special recognition of the runner-up and the naming of the 2025 National Small Business Person of the Year.

These awards recognize businesses for their growth in revenues, growth in physical space, in job creation, their resilience through challenges and contributions to their local communities.

What to know about Kim and Larry Lewis

Kim Caudle Lewis is founder and Chief Executive Officer of PROJECTXYZ, Inc. Prior to starting PROJECTXYZ, Lewis served in several management and leadership roles where she managed large scale technology implementations and projects for Fortune 500 healthcare companies.

A Huntsville, Alabama native, Kim Lewis has a Computer Information Systems degree from John C. Calhoun State Community College and has completed executive and leadership development programs over the course of her career.

Larry Lewis, the co-founder and president of PROJECTXYZ, Inc., leads corporate development activities, business development, strategic planning and partnerships, new venture development, acquisitions and financial management.

Lewis has a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Industrial Management and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Planning from the University of Alabama. Additionally, he holds a certificate in Modeling and Simulation from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
