While a name for the public art piece hasn’t been announced, here is what we know:

  • Commissioner: The art piece was installed by Trilogy Hotel, a Marriott hotel curating an “experience inspired by science, art + progress.”
    • Fun fact: This is the second Trilogy Hotel location in Alabama, with the first in Montgomery.
  • Artist: The creative behind it is Nicola De Pellegrini, an Italian artist + architect.
    • He has completed projects for major international brands across the U.S., Europe + Middle Eastern countries.
  • Material: The sculpture is made of rounded iridescent chrome.
  • Features: The installation includes a sculpture of four stacked planets and two bubble benches that overlook Big Spring Park.
  • What’s nearby: You can find it outside next to Trilogy’s now-open Starbucks, and at the entrance of its coming-soon restaurant, “Harvest Moon.”
