Showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact North Alabama this week.
Chances of rain will start tonight and continue through Thursday night. The threat for severe weather remains low but make sure to stay weather aware.
What you need to know about the coming thunderstorms
The National Weather Service predicts showers will move across Madison County Tuesday morning at 4AM.
Wind gusts are anticipated to hit up to 25mph on Tuesday. You can expect between a quarter and half an inch of rainfall.
Wednesday chances of showers at 80% and on Wednesday night they hit 100%.
Rain is also anticipated on Thursday and Thursday evening. Friday looks clear with a high near 68.
“Tuesday brings a washout rain day with gusty winds. However, Wednesday is the more serious weather day. Rain and storms will bring a level 2/5 risk for severe weather to the area right in time for late afternoon and your evening commute home on Wednesday. The biggest threat is gusty winds up to 45 mph, the tornado threat is low but not zero.”
