New Food City now open on Governors Drive

The third of six proposed Huntsville-area Food City grocery stores opened this week on Governors Drive next to Stovehouse. The new store had a soft opening Wednesday before its full opening today.

What to expect at Food City

Food City’s entry into the Huntsville market addresses the rapid growth in the area’s population and its subsequent need for more grocery stores. A location in Hampton Cove and in Gurley have already opened in the last year.

The chain features:

Full-service meat and seafood departments
In-house butchers to hand cut steaks and fresh meat to order
Pharmacy
Starbucks on site
Deli, complete with a hot food bar
Asian wok
Fresh food bar offering a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections
Hickory wood smoker
A brick pizza oven
Fresh sushi
