The 150-room Fairfield by Marriott opened today, with an elevated design located at 1700 Rideout Road. The hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, managed by Yedla Management Company.

Yedla, based in Huntsville, operates more than 20 hotel projects in the southeast along with other additional projects opening in the next two years.

Hotel amenities include a swimming pool, a fitness center and complimentary Wi-Fi. The complimentary hot breakfast includes oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles and other healthy items — such as fruit, yogurt, whole grain cereals and breads.

Redstone Gateway’s growth

The 450+-acre multi-use development is a joint venture between COPT Defense Properties and Jim Wilson & Associates. It initially opened in 2012 and continues to grow.

The land is owned by the U.S. Government and is under a long-term master lease to the partners through the Enhanced Use Lease (EUL) program. COPT Defense and JWA are working closely with Team Redstone to create a business complex with office space and enhanced amenities, advancing the mission of Redstone Arsenal.

The development has come in phases, but upon full build-out will include over 4 million square feet of office space — including education facilities, two hotels, retail shop space and restaurants.
