New mural in Athens commissioned by Coca-Cola

If you have driven through downtown Athens and have seen something happening over at Market & Monroe, you may have seen artist Brian Tull working on a new mural in Athens, commissioned by Coco-Cola Co.
Tull was was commissioned by the Coca-Cola Company to recreate an early 1900’s classic style mural at the historic spot.

Owners of the Market & Monroe venue, at 100 Market St W, Athens, AL 35611, found photos of an old Coca-Cola mural on the side of its building and looked the idea of bringing it back, and worked with Coca-Cola on restoring the historic mural.
“While renovating, we did much research on what used to be at this property. We found photos of an old Coca-Cola mural on the side of our building and loved the idea of bringing it back. The Coca-Cola Company funds preservation projects like this around the country and they were eager to invest back into our business and our community.”
