As Huntsville International Airport breaks passenger traffic records, the need to accommodate the airport’s growth includes adding more parking, according to officials with the Port of Huntsville.
Which is why officials announced that a new parking deck is planned for HSV.

Here are more details on the new deck, according to a report from WAFF:
- The deck will include between 1,300 and 1,400 spaces.
- It will located adjacent to the current parking deck.
- The Airport Board approved the option to issue bonds to pay for a new parking deck.
- The deck will have a design this summer and construction will begin by the end of 2025.
“It allows us to have better customer service and continue to grow. If people want to use our airport, they can park right next to it, very close to their gate, walk in quickly, and stay out of the weather.”
Butch Roberts, the CEO of the Port of Huntsville in a WAFF interview
More traffic at HSV
Passenger traffic at the Huntsville International Airport was higher in 2024 than any previous year in the airport’s existence.
The Port of Huntsville reports that more than 1.5 million passengers flew in and out of HSV this year.
