Good news, greenway fans: the city just reached an engineering services agreement with Barge Design Solutions Inc. to start work on the next section of the North Huntsville Greenway.
The section covered by the contract, known as Segment C, consists of approximately 4,500 feet of greenway between Holmes Avenue and Pratt Avenue.

Work is expected to be completed within two years.

What is the North Huntsville Greenway?

The North Huntsville Greenway is a transformative project that will connect Downtown Huntsville to Alabama A&M University, which will spark major recreation and reinvestment opportunities in neighborhoods along its path.
The team behind the project is led by Atlanta-based Lord Aeck Sargent, and is taking major inspiration from Atlanta’s BeltLine, which reshaped how Atlanta residents commute.
The project doesn’t have an established end date, but this section will take approximately two years and more work will be completed after.
