New Stadium Commons development now taking shape

The new Stadium Commons development, which will be located adjacent to the newly remodeled Joe Davis Stadium, could be completed this year. At least one facet of the development is expected to be done by the end of the summer.

Here’s what to know about this $145 million mixed-use development:

Stadium Commons progress

The Stadium Commons project includes:

• A 100-room hotel
• 70,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space
• 20,000 square feet of office space
• 200 loft-style multifamily housing units 

As of now, here are some updates:

• The retail and office space of the development will be finished by the end of the summer (but will not open until after tenant space is built out).
• Brasfield & Gorrie is working on the Stadium Commons parking deck, which is being constructed next to the stadium and will include more than 400 parking spaces (300 of which will be leased by the city for $10.5 million for events at John Hunt Park and the stadium).
• The goal is to possibly have the entire development finished by the end of the year.

Crunkleton Real Estate is handing the leasing for the development and has already confirmed that Hattie B’s Hot Chicken will be a tenant of the development. More tenants will be announced in the coming weeks.
