Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar will open a location at MidCity on the first floor of the Metronome, the District’s first residential building. Construction will begin in 2024.

What is Tupelo Honey?

The upscale-casual Southern restaurant started in Asheville, N.C., in 2000. Since then, the restaurant has opened 22 locations across the country, including three in Tennessee. The opening at MidCity will be the restaurants first Alabama location.

Tupelo Honey specializes in farm-to-table Southern cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Popular menu items include shrimp and grits, honey dusted bone-in fried chicken and their harvest bowl.

“We’d searched for our first Alabama location for several years before selecting Huntsville. MidCity is an extraordinary project that goes beyond the mixed-use elements we look for. The master plan intelligently blends the concept of live, work and play with a dynamic entertainment component.”

Stephen Frabitore, CEO of Tupelo Honey

While there’s no official opening date yet, Tupelo Honey plans to open mid-year in 2024. It will be near Blue Oak BBQ, a New Orleans based barbecue restaurant planning to open in March 2024. Stick with Hville Blast for updates.
