New Yemeni coffee shop set to open in Huntsville soon

Your new favorite coffee shop is calling, and we suggest you pick up!

We got the chance to get a sneak peek of the Yemeni coffee shop opening soon here in Huntsville, and it did not disappoint. From their smooth, flavorful lattes to their delicious bites like Zaatar Manakeesh (also described as Lebanese pizza) to their incredible customer service, we will in fact be returning ASAP.

About Qahwtea

Yemen is widely known as one of the birthplaces of coffee, and this family-owned shop aims to honor that legacy while creating something meaningful to the Huntsville community. Inside, customers can expect cultural touches throughout the shop, including a display that depicts one of the very first alphabets tied to their heritage.

Qahwtea will be serving up specialty drinks along with 30+ treats from Arabic, Russian, European and American cultures. While this concept will be a first for Huntsville, not far from here, you can find another Yemeni coffee shop in Birmingham.

Our recs

The full menu isn’t available just yet, but we definitely recommend the few items we did get to try:

• ☕Iced Pistachio Latte: Fresh espresso, milk and delicious pistachio
• ☕Iced Vanilla Latte, add caramel: Fresh espresso, milk, vanilla syrup and caramel
• 🍕Zaatar Manakeesh: Served as a staple breakfast, lunch or snack. Flatbread topped with a blend of herbs and oil | Flatbread topped with mozzarella cheese.
