Old Monrovia Road streetscape project now set to begin in May

The City of Huntsville approved a construction contract for enhancing a portion of Old Monrovia Road on the east side of MidCity District. The project will upgrade Old Monrovia Road to expand the MidCity District through this area.

Huntsville moves ahead with Old Monrovia Road streetscape project
The contract with Rogers Group Inc. will include streetscape improvements on Old Monrovia Road from University Drive to Corporate Drive.
The project will feature 2,700 feet of streetscape improvements consisting of:
- New multiuse paths
- Landscaped islands and turn lanes
- Heavy landscaping + irrigation
- Decorative street lighting
Construction is expected to begin next month and be completed by November 2026.
