Performance Drone Works PDW opens Drone Factory 01 in Huntsville to expand UAS production

Among 10 new building permits issued this past week in the state for construction projects exceeding $1 million, seven are for projects in North Alabama.

These included a permit for the Performance Drone Works facility and one at the Blue Origin warehouse.

High-dollar building permits in North Alabama

Last summer, the City of Huntsville entered into a project development agreement with Performance Drone Works to open an 87,720 square foot facility at 400 Diamond Drive in Thornton Research Park as part of a $9.1 million capital investment. The facility opened in August.

This past week, a $1.4 million building permit was issued for Stanley Graham Construction for a project at the facility.

Known as “Drone Facility 01,” the facility’s focus is developing and producing cutting-edge small robotics for military and government operations.
