We hate to see a local business announce a closing, but unfortunately a local pizza restaurant is closing its doors for good this month.

Cork & Crust Pizzeria + Wine Bar in Madison announced this week that they are not renewing their lease and plan to close permanently Aug. 26. Here’s more:

Sad to see a pizza restaurant go

Cork & Crust has been open at 12120 County Line Rd. in Madison since 2014, so the news that this pizza restaurant and wine bar was closing was a sad announcement indeed.

Owner Jim O’Brien opened the restaurant in December 2014 after learning the hospitality business from his days living in New York. The local pizza restaurant was a favorite brunch spot and received rave reviews statewide.

Support your local businesses

In the last several weeks, a handful of local businesses have announced they are closing, and that is never a good thing for a community. The best way to support these local businesses is to keep being a customer!

Local businesses can only survive when they get the support from the folks who live in their towns and communities. So make sure and shop local whenever possible.
