Popular downtown bar offering all-day happy hour during government shutdown

Huntsville is, of course, feeling the effects of the now 27-day-long government shut down, with over 21% of residents being government employees.
In true community fashion, one of downtown’s popular bars, Stella’s Elixir Lounge, made a pleasant announcement Friday afternoon: until the government shutdown is over, they will be offering Happy Hour prices from open to close.

Stella’s shared the news to Instagram with a quippy yet sentimental statement:
“The shutdown has affected all of us, and Stella’s knows our city runs on rocket fuel and hard-working people.

So while the government may be shut down, our doors—and our hearts—are wide open.”
The announcement received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. Stella’s has been a favorite for post-work drinks and bites since opening in 2020.
