New short-term closure of cross country + disc golf courses

JH park courses temporary closed — Certain sections are temporarily closed (Hville Blast)

Huntsville City just announced that they are temporarily closing the disc golf and cross country courses in John Hunt Park, effective immediately.

What’s happening to the courses

John Hunt park sports complex — John Hunt Park has many different sections to enjoy (Hville Blast)

The closures are to treat the foliage affected by winter temperatures as well as to extensively plant sprigs along the course. Foot traffic must be kept to a minimum where these take place which is why temporary closure is necessary.

“We have made the determination that temporarily closing the course is our best approach to ensuring that these areas are ready for our upcoming fall events.”

The park sections are projected to open back up in early September with the beginning of Fall.
