Southern Living has released their article “The South’s Best Cities On The Rise 2024,” in which they have listed Huntsville as the fourth best city to live in the South this year. This comes just weeks after Huntsville was also named Alabama’s best performing large city by the Milken Institute.
Southern Living Editors took note of Huntsville’s growing entertainment district, natural beauty, thriving arts community and more. Read on to learn about what earned Huntsville a spot on this impressive list.
What makes Huntsville one of the South’s best cities?
Southern Living’s list was formed after an online survey was conducted among the magazine’s consumer base between July and August 2023 — the survey received over 20,000 responses.
“The Rocket City is on a roll. Now larger than Birmingham and Montgomery, there is much to love here. The Orion Amphitheater, a world-class music venue and live entertainment destination, opened in the summer of 2022. And most recently, it was named the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Place to Live for Families in 2023-2024. Up next, Huntsville will welcome Front Row, an 11-acre, $325 million mixed-use development that will include restaurants, a boutique hotel, retail, entertainment, and several public spaces.”
