Sparkman High School, for those who don’t know, is one of northern Alabama’s largest high schools. A significant portion of our city’s young community, as well as many alumni who still reside in Huntsville, call Sparkman home.

Sparkman High already provides so much in the way of education and opportunities for students and families in Harvest, Toney and Monrovia.

On November 23rd, the school is extending its support for the local community by holding its very first fall festival to raise funds for House of the Harvest.

What is House of the Harvest?

House of the Harvest is a local nonprofit food bank that provides breakfast and groceries to local families in need. It has been serving families every Saturday morning for approximately nine years.

The nonprofit thrives because of its passionate volunteer staff who work to organize food drives and distribute food every week.

Sparkman High’s fall festival will serve as a way to help House of the Harvest fulfill its altruistic mission.

How will Sparkman High’s fall festival contribute?

At the festival, there will be a donation drive for House of the Harvest. You can donate money, non-perishable food items, clothing, toiletries and baby items.

Additionally, the school will present House of the Harvest with a check to help support their work to improve the community.

Not only will the festival give back to a beloved nonprofit, but it will also bring the local suburban community together for a day full of fun.

How can you get involved?

The details of the festival itself are still being worked out, but this planning stage will ensure it is an exciting experience for all.

Accordingly, the festival is still accepting vendors. For more information on how to apply to be a vendor, check out this Facebook post.

Huntsville thrives when everyone comes together to show their support for local improvement projects.

This festival is yet another example of Huntsville’s dedication to supporting local entertainment and doing some good in the process!
