Target remodel in Decatur one 12 new high-dollar building permits in Alabama

This past week, 12 new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Most of these projects are for the Birmingham metro, bit one North Alabama projects involves a major remodel in Decatur.

Target at The Crossings in Decatur undergoes remodel

Target Corp. has been remodeling hundreds of its stores across the country — a plan that began in 2022 — to accommodate expanded services, CVS Pharmacy’s integration into Target stores and to “support the rising popularity of the store’s same-day services and create more ease for customers,” according to a news release from the company.

A $3.8 million building permit was issued last week for the remodeling project, with Crossland Construction Company listed as the lead contractor.
