The 5 best cocktails we tried in Huntsville for 2023
Reading time: 3 minutes
As Huntsville continues to grow, the bar scene only elevates. From swanky rooftop settings to movie theater drink specials, the Rocket City offers some amazing cocktail experiences.
Although it was almost impossible to narrow down the list to a handful, here are five of our favorites cocktails of 2023.
1. Springtime on the Moon: Prohibition
Offering comfortable rooftop seating with stunning sunset views, Prohibition is a great place to hang during the warmer months.
Our favorite drink of the season was the Springtime on the Moon—a refreshing mixture of tequila, mezcal, blueberry, lime, mint and rosemary.
2. KIV Beer: Chandler’s Ford Brewery inside BeeZr
Yes, we’re stretching the term cocktail, but had to give a shoutout to the KIV Beer—a drink to impress the ale enthusiasts and non-beer drinkers alike.
“I typically don’t drink beer, but I loved the KIV Beer. It’s the only brew I’ll drink!”
McCarley Northway
3. The Trance: The Library Piano Bar
The Library Piano Bar opened earlier this year and has been an amazing addition to the Huntsville bar scene, offering late night hours and a laidback atmosphere.
Our favorite drink of the year was the Trance—an intricate combination of tequila, mezcal, blueberry, vanilla and lime, rimmed with delicious black salt.
4. The “Pink Dream” Special: Cinemark
Barbenheimer was all the craze this summer in Huntsville, and it brought along with it fashion trends, Barbie-inspired days and unbeatable drink specials.
The “Pink Dream” cocktail at Cinemark was a hit, featuring gin, margarita mix, grenadine, ginger ale and an orange peel.

5. Plead the Fifth: Valentina’s Pizzeria
Valentina’s Pizzeria opened its new location earlier this month, expanding to 4,000 square feet and adding in a stellar cocktail menu.
Our favorite pick is The Plead the Fifth—a signature drink of Valentina’s cocktail menu creator and award-winning mixologist, Niles Peacock. It’s the perfect blend of smooth bourbon, citrusy lime and warm cloves and cinnamon.
