A French-Asian bakery franchise is making its way to the Rocket City, as Huntsville’s MidCity District announced that Tous les Jours will open its first Alabama location here in the fall. Tous les Jours originated in South Korea and has spread to the United States with more than 80 stores in the U.S and more than 1,600 locations worldwide.

Tous les Jours was established in 1996, with the first store opening in Guri, South Korea in September 1997. The company established a frozen dough facility in Um-Sung, South Korea in November 1997, starting mass production and distribution. In September 1998, the Tous Les Jours company began franchise licensing to the public.

The first U.S. location opened in 2004.

Huntsville residents and culinary mainstays in the area, Jim Xue and Yunus Hasan, are the local franchisees for Tous les Jours, following their other successful ventures in the Rocket City, including Chop N Fresh, Kamado Ramen, Oh Crepe and I Love Sushi.

“North Alabama is in for a treat. We fell in love with Tous les Jours several years ago on a trip to New York and have dreamt of bringing this phenomenal bakery franchise to Huntsville. The growth of our city and the amazing planning of MidCity really gave us the opportunity to share the exceptional cakes, pastries, coffee, and more to the MidCity District.”

Are you into lattes or tea? Well, Tous les Jours offers your standard Americano, lattes, cafe mocha and iced coffee. But for something perhaps away from the norm, folks can order an iced ube latte, or a honey lavender macchiato.

Where and when?

Tous les Jours will open this fall on MidCity Drive near Wahlburgers and Kung Fu Tea. Hours of operation will be 7AM-7PM. The bakery is accepting applications for employment now.
