Master plan + annexation recap

Back in January, Huntsville annexed 640+ acres of Limestone County.
According to The Planning Commission, an estimated 2,200 new residential units and 2,400 new jobs will be created within the Huntsville/Limestone region each year, for the next 50 years.
In addition to the new residential units and jobs, a P-8 school is also planned for development in the newly annexed land.
“As growth continues in Limestone County, we want to make sure that we are adequately planning for the new land uses.”
Dennis Madsen, Manager of Urban & Long-Range Planning
It is becoming very obvious that Huntsville is aggressively expanding outwards, with new annexations being announced every year.
This new traffic study, as well as the master plan, will be crucial is making sure residents get maximum benefit out of the newly annexed land.
