Traveling for the holidays? You may like Alabama’s gas prices right now

Those of you traveling by car this week for the holidays are going to see noticeable relief at the gas pump here in Alabama.
According to AAA, the national average for gas has dropped below $3 a gallon for the first time in four years this holiday season. As of December 22nd, the average price in Alabama has dropped to $2.56 per gallon.
Here is how several Alabama counties have fared:
- Madison— $2.58
- Jefferson County — $2.59
- Montgomery County — $2.55
- Tuscaloosa County — $2.47
- Mobile County — $2.49
- Houston County — $2.59
The highest gas price in Alabama is Perry County at $3.00, while the lowest is Cullman County at $2.44.
