In a previous article, we highlighted chain restaurants that we would love to see in Huntsville.

However, Huntsville is already home to many beloved local spots that are just waiting for new customers.

If you haven’t been through New Hope, we recommend stopping by these three restaurants to get your fix of local food and support the existing restaurants in the community:

Dot’s Dairy Den

Dot’s Dairy Den is so small that I almost missed it when driving through the area. Located right past New Hope High and New Hope Elementary, this hole in the wall comes highly recommended by community members.

With an all-American menu of homemade burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshakes and ice cream, Dot’s Dairy Den has been a mainstay in the local community since 1955.

If you’re in the need for some small town cooking, be sure to give this place a try.

Galen’s Restaurant

Galen’s Restaurant is another standout restaurant in the New Hope community.

Boasting a menu of Southern comfort favorites such as pancakes, chicken tenders and wings, sandwiches, steaks, seafood and more, it offers a little something for all visitors from the Huntsville area.

Galen’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and, despite recent turnover and schedule changes, has remained a crucial part of New Hope’s local food offerings.

If you’re in need of a new favorite that feels like home, check out what Galen’s has to offer.

Perfect Timing Bar and Grill

Perfect Timing Bar and Grill is a great spot to visit on game days.

With plenty of indoor seating and TV screens, you can enjoy dinner here while you watch the big game. Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays, you can take advantage of Happy Hour from 2-5PM.

During the week, this spot also hosts trivia and karaoke nights. If you’re looking for a new spot to host your group hangout, Perfect Timing may be just what you’re looking for.
