What’s open, closed on Good Friday + Easter in Huntsville

Easter weekend is here and while you may know of most of the places that stay open on Good Friday or Easter, it doesn’t hurt to check each year. With that said, there are several businesses and offices that do close on Good Friday and Easter, or just Easter.

Here is what’s open and closed in the Huntsville area this Friday and Sunday:

Good Friday

Good Friday is not a federal holiday and most people are scheduled to work regular hours on Friday. However, there are a handful of services and businesses that will be closed this Friday:

  • City of Huntsville municipal offices are closed 
  • Huntsville Parks & Recreation is closed
  • Huntsville Animal Services closed
  • Huntsville/Madison County Public Libraries are open
  • City of Madison offices are open
  • Federal courts are open
  • Banks are open
  • Public schools are open

Easter Sunday

Many businesses are closed on Sundays regardless of the holiday, but some of those that are usually open on Sundays will be closed for Easter. Here’s what’s closed for Easter Sunday:

  • Barnes & Noble
  • Best Buy
  • Lowe’s
  • Michael’s
