10 cheapest gas prices in Huntsville right now

Gas prices across the country continue to rise at a rapid pace, and Alabama is no exception. In the last week alone, gas prices in the state have increased 20 cents per gallon on average.

Although we aren’t close to the surge we saw in 2022, the current average price per gallon here in Alabama is $3.84, up from $3.65 last week. A month ago, that number was $2.98.

So where does Huntsville’s average gas price rank among cities in Alabama, and where can you find the cheapest gas in town?

Huntsville metro gas prices among highest in state

The Huntsville metro reported some of the highest gas prices in the state this week, ranking second only to the Montgomery metro.

Here are some of the average prices by metro, ranked from most to least expensive for a regular gallon of gas, according to AAA:

1. Montgomery: $3.90 regular / $4.78 premium
2. Huntsville: $3.86 regular / $4.64 premium
3. Florence-Muscle Shoals: $3.85 regular / $4.64 premium
4. Daphne-Fairhope-Foley: $3.85 regular / $4.73 premium
5. Decatur: $3.84 regular / $4.65 premium
6. Gadsden: $3.83 regular / $4.71 premium
7. Anniston-Oxford: $3.83 regular / $4.65 premium
8. Mobile: $3.83 regular / $4.67 premium
9. Russell County: $3.83 regular / $4.73 premium
10. Tuscaloosa: $3.82 regular / $4.67 premium
11. Dothan: $3.81 regular / $4.59 premium
12. Auburn: $3.81 regular / $4.68 premium
13. Birmingham: $3.81 regular / $4.68 premium
