Another winter weather system is coming our way—what to know
Reading time: 2 minutes
As folks here in the Rocket City emerge from last weekend’s winter weather event, we should probably prepare for another system coming our way next week.
Although the possibility of snow remains uncertain, we do know that temperatures will dip down into the single digits next week after some heavy rain. Read more for details:
Winter weather system brings freezing temps next week
While the weather will warm a little over the next couple of days, by the end of the weekend, a cold front will come in and stick around for a few days.
No severe weather is expected this weekend, but heavy rain stays in place overnight Friday with scattered, lighter rain throughout the day on Saturday. That rain will bring with us a significant cold front, according to WAAY meteorologist Grace Anello.
“Morning temperatures from Sunday-Wednesday will sit in the teens with high temperatures struggling to get to the freezing mark. Tuesday night brings a chance for snow flurries into the area, primarily for our southern counties.
That winter weather forecast is not yet concrete due to how far away that system still is. However, our team has our eyes on it and as it stands right now, impacts will be slight or very negligible.”
Grace Anello, WAAY-31 Meteorologist
