What you need to know about the severe storms possible tomorrow

The National Weather Service’s (NWS) Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk of severe weather tomorrow–Friday, January 12–for a majority of the state including Madison, Limestone, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson and DeKalb counties.

Here’s everything you need to know about tomorrow’s forecast.

Will these storms produce torandos?

It’s possible that tomorrow’s storms may produce a tornado or two; however, the probability of tornados across the state is between 5% and 9%.

NWS has stated that the threat of tornados is lower than previously anticipated.

Prepare for strong winds + cold temperatures moving in

Strong winds are also possible during tomorrow’s storms, but Saturday and Sunday are forecasted to be sunny with highs in the mid 40s.

Temperatures will drop rapidly starting Sunday night when the polar vortex will bring low pressure and a chance of snow.
