What to expect from this new phase of the I-65 project

The entire project involves resurfacing 23.4 miles of I-65 from Hurricane Creek, north of Vinemont in Cullman County, through Morgan County, to about one mile south of the I-565 interchange (Exit 340) in Limestone County.
Here’s what we know about this new phase of the project:
- The contractor, Rogers Group, will resurface from just south of SR-36 (Exit 328) in Hartselle to south of the I-565 interchange (Exit 340) in Limestone County.
- The contractor will patch the pavement prior to the start of milling and resurfacing.
- To reduce traffic impacts, most work requiring lane closures will take place between 6PM and 6AM, Sunday-Thursday nights.
- ALDOT advises drivers to expect delays due to single-lane closures.
During the first phase of the project, Rogers Group and their subcontractors substantially completed the following work:
- Resurfacing from Hurricane Creek, north of Vinemont in Cullman County, to south of SR-36 in Hartselle
- Raising two local road overpasses to improve clearance
- Repairing a bridge that was added to the project after the contract was awarded
These areas remain part of an ongoing project and may be subject to lane closures for minor work items, according to ALDOT.
