The city of Madison is now home to two state archery champions after local elementary students Natalie and Noah won their respective divisions in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Alabama State Championship.

Natalie shot 276 per 300 to win the elementary girl division, while Noah shot 280 per 300 to win the elementary boy division.

“Her winning the Alabama championship shows her that hard works always pay off. And we always teach her to ‘stay hungry, stay foolish’ (by Steve Jobs). Her mother is Vietnamese born and the Vietnamese community in Madison AL is very proud of their little state champion.”

Andrew Yancey, Father of Natalie

Competition was fierce, with over 2000 kids participating in the NASP this year. Also, both our student-archery champions had to pass through regional qualifying tournaments before making it to the championship—so this is an incredible feat!

Keep your eyes and ears open for what’s coming next, as Natalie and Noah will be heading to Kentucky in May to compete in the NASP Eastern National Championship—we wish them the best of luck!
