$400K+ in new grants awarded to nonprofits by City of Huntsville

The City of Huntsville has approved more than $400,000 in FY25 Emergency Solutions Grant funding to support local nonprofit organizations dedicated to assisting individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
The funding, provided through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will help ensure critical services and housing stability for Huntsville’s most vulnerable residents.

More than $400,000 in new grants
The ESG funds will be used for a range of activities, including emergency shelter operations, rapid re-housing, homelessness prevention, street outreach and data management through Homeless Management Information System.
Each organization will provide monthly reports to the City to assure accountability and effective use of funds.
The following agencies will receive awards from the City with ESG funds:
- AshaKiran, Inc.: $25,000
- Catholic Center of Concern-Huntsville: $155,000
- Community Action Partnership of Huntsville/Madison and Limestone Counties, Inc.: $25,000
- Crisis Services of North Alabama, Inc.: $50,000
- Downtown Rescue Mission, Inc.: $30,000
- Family Services Center, Inc.: $102,000
- New Futures, Inc.: $45,000
