5 summer-long events in Huntsville you don’t want to miss this year
Reading time: 3 minutes
As the weather warms, Huntsville’s summer event scene is heating up, too. Thankfully, you will have plenty of chances to check out all these events, as they’re recurring on a regular basis all summer long.
We’ve rounded up five you don’t want to miss.
1. Cocktails at the View
I finally made it out to Cocktails at the View last weekend, and it’s a Huntsville experience you don’t want to miss. It’s free to attend, with a cash bar and small bites available. Grab a drink and a table while you enjoy live music and one of the best views in town—I’m going back with friends next time.
- When: Wednesdays April-October, 5-8PM
- Where: 3101 Burritt Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35801
- No tickets necessary

2. Golden Hour at the Huntsville Botanical Garden
This is high on my list for this summer. Every Wednesday evening during the summer months, the Huntsville Botanical Garden hosts Golden Hour. Bring a picnic setup or walk the garden’s 112 acres during the most beautiful time of day, and enjoy music by local artists the whole time. You can find a full lineup of performances online.
- When: Wednesdays May-August, 5-7:30PM
- Where: 4747 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805
- Buy tickets
3. Food Truck vs. Food Trailer Rallies
Take your side in the battle of the food vendors with Huntsville’s Food Truck vs. Food Trailer rallies. You’ll have two opportunities each month to sample some of Huntsville’s finest. On the first Friday of each month, check out Huntsville’s best food trailer offerings. Then, on the third Friday, the food trucks will step up to bat. Who will win you over this year?
- When: First and third Fridays May-October, 5-9PM
- Note: The July 1 event will occur on July 8, and the September 2 event will occur on September 9.
- Where: Big Spring Park, Church St SW, Huntsville, AL 35801
- No tickets necessary, but follow Downtown Huntsville, Inc. on Facebook for updated vendor lists
4. Lowe Mill Outdoor Market
Lowe Mill’s outdoor market is the perfect opportunity to find something unique and handmade. Local artists will set up each Saturday afternoon this summer with items like jewelry, secondhand items, handmade artwork and more. Interested in selling? You can still apply to be a vendor.
- When: Saturdays May-October, 11AM-4PM
- Where: 2211 Seminole Dr SW, Huntsville, AL 35805
- No tickets necessary
5. Yoga at the Camp
The Camp and Light On Yoga Fitness are teaming up this summer for weekly yoga sessions in MidCity. Sessions are free and designed to be accessible to all ages and all experience levels—what’s not to love? You can get a full schedule of instructors on the Facebook event page.
