Even though temperatures are dipping below freezing again this week, local flower farms have been bustling with blooms—tulips, ranunculus and more on the way.

These six flower farms in the Huntsville area have all the flowers you could dream of to keep your vases full all spring long. Let’s check them out!

1. Joyful Morning Flower Farm

Joyful Morning Flower Farm is a “micro-farm” and an oasis right in the middle of our busy city. The husband-and-wife team behind it, Wes and Jes Spears, do even more than just flowers.

They have plant sales, sourdough classes, fresh-made baked goods and more. Keep an eye on their social media pages to know when they’ll have the stand out!

2. Hubert Family Farms

Out in New Market near Tate Farms is a plot of land that’s been passed down through generations to Seth and Kaylee Hubert. They started Hubert Family Farms in 2016, and since then, they’ve grown a lot of tulips. Locals love this picturesque farm that’s even been featured in Southern Living.

3. Field + Forage

In 2018, mother-daughter team Terri and Ashley founded Field + Forage in South Huntsville. They get creative with all their beautiful flowers, doing everything from weddings to workshops to u-pick days. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned this year!

4. Flower Child

Don’t blink, or you might miss this hidden gem on Maysville Road. Flower Child is a little flower farm and flower stand near the Ryland Pike area run by mother-daughter team Gillian and LeAnn. It started in 2020, and has been bringing joyful memories to the area ever since.

Check their social media pages to stay updated on when their stand will be open and what will be there (don’t miss the cookies and mint tea!).

5. The Flowering Ranch

Peony lovers, this one’s for you. The Flowering Ranch is run by Deana Lasater Sublett, a sixth-generation farmer. She grows all kinds of beautiful flowers on her farm, but specializes in peonies.

At The Flowering Ranch, you’ll find 13-15 different varieties of peonies during the season. Until then, you can find other beautiful flowers (like ranunculus right now) as well as items like honey and eggs at the farm. Keep an eye on their social media pages to see when and what they’re selling.

6. Moonflower Farms

Moonflower Farms, run by Eddie and Laura Houk, specializes in tulips—and tulips seem to be Huntsville’s favorite!

This flower farm, located on Sand Mountain, is already sold out for the year after a huge turnout during the opening days of their u-pick tulip season. We can’t wait to see how this farm continues to grow next year and beyond.
