More about the new elementary school in Muscle Shoals
The 140,000-square-foot campus will be located on 11 acres of land behind the current Webster Elementary School. The land currently has baseball and recreational sports fields that are no longer in use, which will be demolished to make way for the school.
Here’s what else we know:
- The proposed campus would house Grades 2-4, relocating those students from McBride Elementary.
- First grade would move to Highland Park Elementary, which would become a dedicated first-grade center.
- Fifth grade would remain at the current McBride campus and operate as part of the middle school.
The school system expects to bid out the construction of the school July 1.
