7 exciting events to enjoy in Huntsville this December

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but November is about halfway over, and it’s time to start looking ahead to December for some fun and exciting events happening during the month.
There are some cool holiday lights events happening right now through Christmas, that we have previously reported, but there are even more events to check out as well.
We didn’t have to search long to find multiple events happening in and around Huntsville this December. Take a look:
Mrs. Claus’ Snow Stroll
The shops of Gas Light Alley are offering kid-friendly, accessible experiences in their shops. The shops will also be stocked with all the best holiday gifts/decor, so make sure you come ready to shop for the perfect gift for everyone on your list.

Winter Park at the Orion – Dec. 1-31
Celebrating its second year, Winter Park will feature a variety of seasonal activities including an ice skating rink inside the amphitheater, meet and greets with Santa Claus in his workshop, curling under The Dome, festive performances, train rides, holiday movies and carolers — as well as a variety of food and beverage offerings such as popcorn roasting and s’mores kits.

Middle Tennessee State vs. University of Tennessee – Dec. 6
One of the most storied programs in women’s college basketball history comes to Propst Arena Dec, 6 when The University of Tennessee Lady Vols host Middle Tennessee State. This interstate rivalry was recently renewed, although in the “rivalry,” UT has a 22-0 edge.

The Nutcracker – Dec. 8-10
Huntsville Ballet celebrates its 60th year with their incredible performance of “The Nutcracker” December 8-10 at the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall.

UAH Holiday Jazz – Dec. 8
UAH Department of Music, Theatr, and Film kicks off the holiday season with Holiday Jazz in the Ballroom of the Student Services Building, featuring the UAH Faculty Jazz Combo.

Huntsville Havoc Hockey – Dec. 8, 16, 22, 23, 26
The Huntsville Havoc have multiple games at home at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville this December. Fans have several opportunities next moth to cheer on the Havoc.

Huntsville Anime-Fest – Dec. 17
Huntsville Anime-Fest is an anime collectors’ mecca convention located at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Huntsville. This may end up being Alabama’s best and truest anime convention featuring fandoms of multiple genres.
