7 exciting September events to enjoy in the Rocket City

We are nearing the last weeks of August — believe it or not — so now would be a good time to look ahead to September and find out what’s happening in and around Huntsville.
As we told you earlier this week, September is Huntsville Music Month and includes a bevy of cool live music events all over the city. But there are some more September events to check out in the Huntsville area:
Oktoberfest 2023 at Straight to Ale – Sept. 9
Join Straight to Ale for Oktoberfest 2023, with brats and brews all day. Stick around for the Maker’s Market and rabbit adoption event with Huntsville House Rabbit Rescue. DiVrgence will be on site with their 3D gaming truck so you can check out their offering of 3D games. And in the Speakeasy they’ll have DJ CatLo on the decks. Then wander into the Lipz Lounge karaoke bar to sign up to sing your favorite song.

Rocket City Fair – Sept. 14-23
The Rocket City Fair has been a Huntsville staple for years and they’re looking forward to making this year spectacular! There will be fun for everyone with treats, rides, and more.

Moon Dance 2023 – Sept. 16
This is the Land Trust of North Alabama’s premier fundraising event and takes place at Three Caves, one of the most unique venues in Alabama. There will be live music from the Dawn Osborne Band, a silent auction featuring some incredible auction items, and one of the coolest dance parties you’ll ever attend.

Monte Sano Art Festival – Sept. 16-17
One of Huntsville’s premier arts experiences is back! Don’t miss this year’s Monte Sano Arts Festival. The festival is free, but park admission is $5/attendee or $10/vehicle. This is such a fabulous experience for art lovers everywhere.

Crush Wine + Food Festival – Sept. 23
Save the date for a glass-raising event in the Rocket City as the 9th Annual Crush Wine & Food Festival comes to Big Spring Park in Huntsville on Sept. 23. This is an event that has become bigger and more popular with each passing year, and you will not want to miss the expanded 2023 version.

Huntsville City FC vs. Chicago Fire II – Sept. 24
The inaugural season for the Huntsville City Football Club has been a tremendous success, and it’s not over. Cheer on your HCFC players as they host Chicago at Joe Davis Stadium.

Alabama A&M Homecoming – Sept. 30
Oh did we forget to mention that college football begins in September? Well, Alabama A&M has three home games during the month (Sept. 9, 21, 30) and will celebrate Homecoming Sept. 30 against Tuskegee.
