North Alabama Walmart Distribution Center upgrades among new building permits

Of the 15 new building permits issued throughout the state this past week for construction projects exceeding $1 million, eight of them are for projects in North Alabama.
Among those are two permits for upgrades at the Walmart Distribution Center in Cullman. Here’s more:
Upgrades at Walmart Distribution Center
Two new building permits — a $44 million permit and a $17 million permit — were issued this past week for the Walmart Distribution Center in Cullman.
These permits are part of a larger $350 million investment the retail giant has committed to the Cullman center. The work includes renovating the distribution center with automation equipment and AI-powered software systems.
