It’s almost 2024, Huntsville…can you believe it? Our team has tried plenty of amazing food this year around the Rocket City, and we want to share with you the best places we ate in 2023.

Read on for a list of the best places we ate, some of which just opened this past year:

Prohibition Rooftop Bar + Grill

“Prohibition is my favorite restaurant in Madison, hands down. Their menu is full of unique and delicious dishes that always leave me wanting more. I recommend their ginger scallion noodles for dinner and their all star breakfast for brunch.”

Fusion Barbecue

“Everything I’ve ever had at Fusion has hit the spot, and the Don’t Brie a Chicken is my favorite thing on the menu. Their fries are also some of my favorites in Huntsville.”

McCarley Northway, Content Producer, Hville Blast

“Every detail of the Southern Banh Mi goes into making it my favorite sandwich at Fusion Barbecue. The pecan smoked pork butt and pickled veggie combo is spectacular, and the Japanese white sauce adds a creamy texture to the crispy, toasted French roll.”

Bigfoot’s Little Donuts

Fresh donuts, anyone? (McCarley Northway / Hville Blast)

“The cookies and cream were my favorite. I had to resist from eating the entire box in one sitting whenever I tried them for the first time. They always come out hot and they have a ton of toppings.”

McCarley Northway, Content Producer, Hville Blast

La Esquina Cocina

“La Esquina Cocina is one of my go-to spots in downtown Huntsville. The tacos are marvelous, and the queso (with chorizo) is amazing. But this chicken quesadilla is probably my favorite. The service is also top-notch and they serve up some tasty cocktails as well.”

Michael Seale, Managing Content Producer, Hville Blast

“I can go to La Esquina for brunch, lunch or dinner and have an amazing meal. They always have great service and unique cocktail specials.”

Lacey Spear, Senior Content Producer, Hville Blast

Biscuit Belly

Nothing like a hearty biscuit to start your day. (Michael Seale / Hville Blast)

“I’m a breakfast guy, so when Biscuit Belly opened in Jones Valley recently, I knew I had to check it out. My daughter and I have eaten here half a dozen times in the last year and it never disappoints. The place is always packed, but they move through the line quickly and the menu is incredible.”

The Poppy + Parliament

Come into The Poppy & Parliament for a true English experience: all from the comfort of Huntsville. (Lacey Spear / Hville Blast)

“I’m a huge fan of Sunday brunch, and The Poppy has the best breakfast in town. I also love how they serve speciality drinks and meals you can’t find anywhere else in Huntsville. It’s truly a gem of a restaurant.”

Lacey Spear, Senior Content Producer, Hville Blast

Condado Tacos

Every taco at Condado is delicious in its own way. (Curtis Venetta / Hville Blast)

“I’ve eaten at Condado Tacos about four times in the short time they’ve been open — everyone I’ve taken to eat here has also loved it. I’ve tried their ‘Build Your Own Bowl’ option, as well as the Blue Dream, Cali Green and Sweet Heat tacos. You have to try their cilantro-lime aioli and different queso dips!”

Canadian Bakin

We loved their Everything Bagel. (Audrey Johnson / Hville Blast)

“When I moved to Huntsville, all the locals told me to try Canadian Bakin – and for good reason. If you’re a carb lover or bagel fanatic, you can’t miss their fresh, handmade products.”
