New Lockheed Martin $18 million facility opens in Research Park

Say hello to the new $18 million Lockheed Martin facility boasting 122,000-square-feet in Huntsville.

For those who didn’t know, Huntsville houses one of the country’s leading engineering company’s facilities. Lockheed Martin specializes in defense and aerospace manufacturing, both of which are a big part of Huntsville’s professional culture.

With this new addition, Lockheed Martin now has 30 work sites, providing jobs for over 3,300 people in Alabama including in Huntsville and Courtland. This new facility will give jobs to approximately 500 employees, and will work to further advance national security.

What this new facility will do

This new location will allow Lockheed Martin to advance as they:

  • Research and develop defense projects for land, sky, sea and space
  • Sustain and modernize US Army helicopters
  • Provide a meeting place for military, government and industry stakeholders to advance aviation and defense in the Army
