The weekend is approaching and it looks like all the rain we are experiencing will subside, so there’s no excuse not to get out and about in the Rocket City and get in to some fun.

Here are few suggestions for cool stuff to do this weekend:

1. Huntsville Comic + Pop Culture Expo

This is a family-friendly 3-day even that includes cosplay contests, gaming rooms, discussion panels, a charity auction, special celebrity guests, 100+ vendors and much more!

2. HBG Spring Plant Sale

Spring is in full swing in April, and the Huntsville Botanical Garden is hosting its annual Spring Plant Sale to get your garden going this year!

3. Rocket City Trash Pandas

The Rocket City Trash Pandas have begun the 2024 season! The first homestand of the season against Birmingham continues into the weekend.

4. The Legends

Check out this amazing hip-hop show at the Orion. (Orion Amphitheater)

This hip-hop extravaganza features Scarface, Z-Ro, Lil’Flip, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Slim Thug and more rap legends.

5. Spring Plant + Cleanup Supply Giveaway

Drive through at the Jaycee Building on Airport Road SW on Friday to get your free cucumber and tomato plants. Garbage bags to use for cleanups will also be available.

6. Battle of the Buffalo

For the first time, this year’s event will feature drink specials. (Battle of the Buffalo)

Battle of the Buffalo was inspired by the life of Paul “Fish” Salmon who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006 and received treatment from Clearview Cancer Institute. When he passed away in 2007, Paul was a brother of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and a senior at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

7. Monster Jam

Get ready for some serious monster truck action at Propst Arena this weekend. It’s going to loud and exciting and tons of fun!

8. Madison City Farmers Market

It’s farmers market time! And the Madison City Farmers Market — one of the best in town — opens this weekend.

9. Spring Farm Day

Come to Burritt on the Mountain and enjoy sheep-shearing and blacksmithing demonstrations, observe wool being spun into yarn, milk othe faux cow and play with old-fashioned toys in a beautiful setting.

10. Matt Prater at Stovehouse

The super-talented Matt Prater returns to Stovehouse for a free show Saturday night.

11. Huntsville Symphony Orchestra presents Manhler + Rachmaninov

Performed by Gilles Vonsattel, Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 1 was penned when the pianist-composer was only a teenager, long before the more often played Second and Third concertos, and is based loosely on the great concerto by Grieg.

12. Merrimack Market

This vibrant gathering is a treasure trove of handmade items, fresh vegetables, unique jewelry pieces, delicious food, and so much more.

13. Pup Palooza

This free event celebrates our favorite furry friends while raising money for pups in Huntsville that need our help. The event includes food, live music, games, family events and more.

14. Huntsville City FC

The Huntsville City FC is home at Joe Davis Stadium this weekend as their second season begins. Come out and cheer them on Sunday night!
